(Cibinong, Geospatial News) - Thursday, March 21, 2019, BIG received a visit from the Geodesy Engineering student at Pakuan University (Unpak) Bogor. This kind of visit is often done by many parties who want to learn and know more about what BIG is along with technical matters of mapping. Unpak Geodesy Engineering students with around 25 people were accompanied by visiting lecturer Rina Muthia. In her speech, Rina expressed her gratitude for the visit from BIG. He hopes that his students can learn from BIG related to things learned on campus, namely related to mapping.
The team that received the visit from BIG was from the Promotion and Collaboration of BIG with the Head of the Division, Sri Lestari Munajati. Sri Lestari welcomed the arrival of this Unpak Geodetic Engineering student with joy. "BIG is open if there are students who want to ask for data and want an internship. If you want to request data, you must sign the dean of the faculty. This is for orderly administration ", he said.
Sri Lestari then handed over souvenirs in the form of the 2018 edition of the Republic of Indonesia Homeland and a number of IG products to Rina Muthia. On the contrary, Rina Muthia gave a number of souvenirs as a sign of friendship between the two agencies, BIG with Unpak.
Entering the main event, Dian Ardiansyah from BIG Promotion and Cooperation explained the BIG profile and guided the event. Dian mentioned that BIG used to be the National Survey and Mapping Coordinating Board (Bakosurtanal) which since 2011 changed its name to Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) based on Law no. 4 of 2011 concerning IG.
From the technical center, there was Rahullah Ragajaya from the Topographical and Toponym Mapping Center (PPRT) who explained about knowing the process of making RBI maps. From the Thematic Integration Mapping Center (PPIT), BIG Thematic Disaster and Climate Change Mapping Section Head, Ferrari Pinem explained about the Integration of Thematic Geospatial Information Disaster. Finally, Randhi Atiqi from the Center for Spatial Planning and Atlas (PTRA) explained about knowing and loving NKRI with Atlas. (ATM)
