On Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at 10:00 am, in Auditorium of BAKOSURTANAL, Cibinong, the Minister of Research and Technology, Suharna Surapranata, inaugurated Dr. Asep Karsidi, M.Sc., as the Head of Bakosurtanal replaces the previous official, Ir. R.W. Matindas M.Sc, who was retired. As the witnesses to the inauguration, there were the Head of National Nuclear Energy Agency (BATAN), Hudi Hastowo, and the Head of Nuclear Energy Supervisory Agency (BAPETEN), As Natio Lasman.
Asep Karsidi inauguration as the Head of Bakosurtanal was based on the Presidential Decree number 64 M/2010 dated June 8, 2010. Previously, Asep Karsidi occupied the First Deputy Coordination of Social Insecurity on the Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare.
In his speech, the Minister of Research and Technology, Suharna Surapranata said that the official’s turnover is common in an organization. Whoever the leader, the organization must be able to run properly by utilizing and optimizing the available resources.
Suharna reminded of the Article 55 of the UN Charter which states that the mapping is capable of providing public services and providing information on terrestrial (land and marine areas) that can be used as an indicator of the successful development of the country. In addition, Bakosurtanal function that refers to Presidential Decree number 103 of 2003, as an institution that conducts studies and policy makers in the field of surveying and mapping, the development of National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI), and coordination of functional activities, monitoring, providing assistance and guidance to the government agencies in the field of survey and national mapping.
Referring to the above subject, the Minister of Research and Technology asked the new official to make the UN Charter Articles 55 and Presidential Decree number 103 in 2003 as the references in the implementation of assigned tasks. Suharna hopes Asep Karsidi to continue the previous programs, as well as improvement of the organization refers to RPJMN 2010-2014, the Strategic Plan of Bakosurtanal and the spirit of reform of the bureaucracy.
Suharna said thanks to Rudolf W. Matindas and gave great appreciation for the success of the Financial Statements opinions of BAKOSURTANAL with WTP (Unqualified) and the Government Performance and Accountability Report (LAKIP) with a value of CC.
The solemn inauguration was attended by the officials from relevant ministries and government agencies both civilian and military as well as several representatives from professional institutions, academia/universities, and private.
