BAKOSURTANAL goes to highseas again

In the framework of regional delimitation EEZ (Exclusive Economic Zone), in the year 1996-1997 through the project DMRM (Digital Marine Resource Management) has conducted surveys Bakosurtanal Preliminary Bathymetry. Bakosurtanal again successfully perform bathymetric surveys on the high seas (highsea). The first survey in order to verify the thickness of sediment (sediment thickness) in the area west of Aceh's potential to become Indonesian continental shelf areas beyond 200 m by using the vessel Sonne - BGR Germany. The survey was conducted by a team of researchers surveys of Indonesia and international. Indonesian survey team consisted of BAKOSURTANAL (Dr. Khafid), BPPT (Dr. Joseph S. Djajadihardja), BRKP (Eko Triarso) and PPGL (Nur Adi Kristanto).

LKI Line Implementation Survey

The second survey, on 3-21 October 2006 Survey Bathymetry in the area south by boat Varuna Nusatenggara Jaya VIII in order to determine / dilimitasi foot of the slope (foot of the slope) region which will be used as a reference or base area of the continental shelf dilimitasi Indonesia beyond 200 m. Bathymetry survey uses a single beam echosounding equipment to a depth of more than 1000 m and using multibeam echosounder for areas with depths less than 1000 m. Ship surveys were also used to survey Bathymetry in waters south of the island of Bali in order to support the procurement of some of bathymetric data (depth 50-200 m) for modeling the Tsunami Early Warning System (TEWS). The survey team from the Centre PDKK BAKOSURTANAL consists of: Mangindrajaya, M. Ramdan A.P, Dawn Triyadi Mugiarto, and Wibowo.

Hydrographic Survey LKI

The third survey was conducted on October 11 to November 11, 2006, using the vessel Sonne - BGR Germany again, along with other agencies such as BPPT, PPGL and BRKP. The survey was conducted seismic surveys to obtain data and simultaneously verifying the thickness of sediment on the seabed (continental shelf) south Nusatenggara. This third survey team from BAKOSURTANAL, PPGL and Geotek-LIPI.
