Cibinong, Geospatial News - We often encounter mapping daily. Like when utilizing online transportation, which is already embedded in people's lives today.
A map can provide an overview of the earth's surface, which contains natural and artificial phenomena. It is useful for resource management in various fields of development. However, not many people know how to compile a map.
"Our hope, after carrying out this activity, students can find out the mapping process and its benefits," said Principal of Al-Hikmah Middle School, Depok, West Java, when giving a speech at the BIG C Building, Tuesday, January 21, 2020.
Head of Promotion and Collaboration of BIG Mone Iye Cornelia Marschiavelli who received a group of students from Al-Hikmah SMPIT, revealed that his party always opens the door for anyone who wants to know or learn more about mapping and Geospatial Information (IG). "We are pleased if more students want to know the benefits and uses of Geospatial Information," he said.
Before joining the class, the students started the day watching how to fly a drone. They are curious about how drones help map production. In the course, students get material related to marine and coastal environment mapping and the introduction of disaster mapping.
Through this activity, the participants get to know and learn the benefits of Geospatial Information. Thus, the use of Geospatial Information in the future will be more productive and optimal. (AR/NIN/MAD).
