The executive board of the Permanent Committee on GIS Infrastructure for Asia and the Pacific (PCGIAP) held a meeting 19-20 May in Xian. The meeting was hosted by the State Bureau of Survey and Mapping, the Chinese national mapping agency.
PCGIAP is an association of national organisations with an interest in promoting spatial data infrastructures in the Asia Pacific region.
Representatives of national mapping agencies from Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea and Singapore took part.
The meeting reviewed the activities of PCGIAP working groups and discussed the committee's objectives over the coming three years.
Li Weisen, the deputy director general of SBSM, chaired the meeting.
