The 1st Indonesian Geospatial Technology Exhibition had been launched by State Minister for Research and Technology, Kusmayanto Kadiman, Wednesday (23/8). By pushed siren, the exhibition are opening until next Sunday (27/8).
Along the report of Head of Bakosurtanal, Ir. Rudolf Wennemar Matindas at the opening ceremony, the exhibition performing several companies both from government and privates.
‘’They are greater companies whose leading in mapping and surveying business sector,” said Matindas. The performing of companies also show the raising of geospatial technologies in Indonesia.
Why geospatial? Because the necessity of this technologies becoming more higher than years before. ‘’Geospatial really useful in helping government or private to covered their land and developed their business sector,” said Matindas.
Meanwhile, Kusmayanto Kadiman said that technology industries in Indonesia are growing faster at recent years. ‘’They are compete each other to be a leader,” said Kusmayanto.
On the other hand, people also has to learning quick in order could follow the developing technologies. ‘’By knowing technologies, the world is in your head not in your hand,” said Kusmayanto.
He also gave more attention to the geospatial technologies in related to the disaster in some Indonesia region. ‘’By using geospatial technologies, hope the disaster management can be organized,” said Kusmayanto.
The geospatial technology, according to the Bakosurtanal presentation, are really useful for any necessity such as in developing disaster management, organizing region development, environment building, or monitoring business sector for privates industries.
The technologies had been applicate for helping disaster management in recovering Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) after tsunami, earthquake in Jogjakarta and Central Java Province, and tsunami at Pangandaran, West Java.
In business sector, the technologies have been application by some public transportation companies in monitoring their system. It also apply for agricultural industries.
