Thousands of Participants Ready to Enliven The Royal Sand Dunes Geospatial Run 2019

Yogyakarta, Geospatial News - The Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) will hold a marathon titled 'The Royal Sand Dunes Geospatial Run 2019' in Gumuk Pasir, Parangtritis Beach, Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sunday, October 27, 2019. This activity will also be the closing of a series of Geospatial Run 2019 in Gumuk Pasir, Parangtritis Beach, Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sunday, October 27, 2019. BIG 50th-anniversary celebration and commemoration of 2019 Geospatial Information Day (HIG).

Head of BIG Hasanuddin Zainal Abidin explained, The Royal Jogja Sand Dunes Run Geospatial 2019 aims to introduce and promote Parangtritis Geomaritime Science Park (PGSP) or the Sand Dune Museum. "PGSP as part of BIG has existed since 2002. PGSP is one of the few sand dune laboratories in the world," he said during a media gathering at the Jogja National Museum, Yogyakarta, Friday, October 25, 2019.

Chairman of the Royal Sand Dunes Geospatial Run 2019 Committee Ali Nor Hidayat added, there were two categories offered at The Royal Jogja Sand Dunes Run Geospatial 2019, namely 6 K and 10 K. Until now, 1,428 people were registered as participants.

Meanwhile, Kanjeng Pangeran Haryo Wironegoro of the Yogyakarta Palace hopes that the Royal Jogja Sand Dunes Run Geospatial 2019 will be able to boost tourism visits in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), especially Sand Dune.

"Sand Dune is a potential asset in the form of the largest sand dunes in Southeast Asia, so far not many people know of its existence," said the man who is familiarly called Kanjeng Wiro.

Likewise, Arif Darmawan from the Bantul Communication and Information Office said that The Royal Jogja Sand Dunes Run Geospatial 2019 is a running sport wrapped in the adventure that needs the support of all parties.
