Toponym Review for Standardization of Topographical Names in the Region of East Java Province

Surabaya, Geospatial News - Located at JW Mariot Hotel, the Rupabumi Mapping and Spatial Mapping Center (PPRT) of the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) held the "Toponym Study of the Central Region of East Java Province" held in the city of Bandung on November 12 - November 16, 2019, The event was attended by 45 participants who were district/city verifiers from districts/cities in East Java.

NKRI has many elements of RUPABUMI both NATURAL RUPABUMI ELEMENTS (islands, islands, mountains, mountains, hills, plateaus, caves, valleys, capes, peninsulas, oceans, seas, underwater mountains, troughs, straits, bays, lakes, rivers, and estuary) and RUPABUMI BUATAN ELEMENTS (airports, dams, reservoirs, bridges, tunnels, lighthouses, residential areas, industrial areas, land / sea management areas, temples, and monuments, and administrative areas).

Most of the geographical/topographic elements are still many who have not yet been named, and those who are still named still need to be standardized, including artificial topographical elements - cultural heritage.

Starting the event, Harry Ferdiansyah as the Head of BIG Toponyms in his remarks explained that this event was held to produce a list of verified toponyms until they were ready to be standardized in accordance with BIG Head's Regulation Number 6 the Year 2017 Concerning the Implementation of Topographical Name Standardization. As before the topinim review has been carried out 6 times and East Java is the last province for this year, hopefully with this event each district/city of the regency/city in East Java can manage data independently which will later be included in the SAKTI application, he said.

In this event, Head of Sub Directorate of Toponimi, Data and Kodefikasi Region II, Ministry of Home Affairs Heru Santoso said that the Urgency of Standardization of Topographical Names includes:

The orderly administration of regional government, the especially regional administration

Orderly government administration, especially regional administration within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia

The UN mandate for each country to standardize topographical names in each country

At present we are in an age where the Industrial Revolution 4.0 has just begun. Industrial Revolution 4.0 applies the concept of automation in its application because with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 is vital for the efficiency of time, labor, and cost.

HR competencies in facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0 are not negotiable. HR competence related to changes in the world of work is the key to success if you do not want to be a spectator in the 4.0 Industrial Revolution where changes are so fast and massive. We hope the presence of the 4.0 revolution which has become a national agenda can be a consistent grip. "Of course, success in welcoming the Industrial Revolution 4.0 is not merely the task of the government, but it requires the support of all components of the nation because we cannot work individually must work together," he said.

Then the event continued with a photo together with the participants of the toponym review of East Java province as well as the presentation of souvenirs by the Geospatial Information Agency to the Toponimi Kasubdit and Kodefikasi Region II, Ministry of Home Affairs. (IP)
