To conduct pendala, am and the application of existing geology, about 35 students along with Teachers from Yogyakarta State Vocational High School 2 undertook a study visit to the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) Wednesday (10/30).
Students from the Geomatics department were welcomed by Tommy Nautico as the coordinator of the visit this time, on the same occasion students from class XI (eleven) and XII (twelve) were given an explanation of the profile of the Geospatial Information Agency submitted by BIG Public Relations Pranata Achmad Faisal Nurghani.
In his presentation, Faisal revealed that BIG has the main task in mapping the area as well as assisting prolonged development planning through spatial information (Geospatial).
"BIG is a government agency responsible for managing Geospatial Information (IG), both for local governments and the private sector," he explained.
In addition to the introduction of BIG's profile, during the visit that took place in Building C of the Promotion and Cooperation Research Center (PPKS) BIG also presented material on the functions and benefits of geospatial science by Nugroho Purnomo as a Geospatial Information Researcher, introduction of the Rupabumi Map and Toponimi by Suryanto and dissemination Geospatial Information by Nurul Hidayah from the Geospatial Information Infrastructure Dissemination Center (PPIG).
Enthusiasm was evident from the dozens of students present that morning, many of them who wanted to find out more about the Geospatial Information Agency. Inspiration was one of them, the young man from Yogya asked about job prospects and assignments that were being carried out by BIG at this time.
At the end of the event, the representatives of SMKN 2 Yogyakarta expressed their gratitude and hoped that study visits like this would take place on a regular basis, in order to increase the knowledge of the students, especially the Geomatics study program.
"I am very grateful to BIG, who has opened the door, to be able to share knowledge with students, I hope (this visit) can be held regularly," he said.
Then the visit was closed by giving souvenirs and mementos from the Geospatial Information Agency and SMK Negeri 2 Jogjakarta. (/ AR).
