Cibinong, Geospatial News - A series of Geospatial Information Coordination Meeting (IG) by the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) begins with a working group meeting (Pokja). There are two Pokjas. Pokja one discusses meeting the needs of the IG of the marine area. Meanwhile, Working Group two discusses the fulfillment of land IG requirements.
The Head of the Center for Standardization and Institutional Geospatial Information Suprajaka explains, manages and realizes the IG function for national development is like managing river water for people's lives. Upstream is geographical data or Basic Geospatial Information (IGD).
"Meanwhile, the downstream is Thematic Geospatial Information (IGT)," said the Head of the Standardization and Institutional Center for Geospatial Information Suprajaka during the Working Group I Meeting in the Main Meeting Room of Building N, BIG, Cibinong, Bogor, Friday, March 8, 2019.
The 2020-2024 Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJM), continued Suprajaka, prioritizes sustainable development by considering the carrying capacity of the environment and natural resources and creating a balance between economic development targets, reducing poverty levels, and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
"This is where open space and broad roles for BIG are accommodated by the RPJMN 2020-2024 theme," Suprajaka said.
For this reason, each working group is asked to make an activity plan until 2014. In addition, each working group is also asked to identify problems or lack of data.
"Currently, the IG availability index is still in the form of a matrix, both those of the IGD and IGT. "Please expect the matrix to be indexed and uploaded to Geoportal," he asked.
Head of the Center for Management and Dissemination of IG Khafid added, the University of Indonesia had identified the relationship of IG in each field to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). "This will help us to arrange concrete steps so that IG can help achieve SDGs," he concluded. (GN / NIN)
