Journalists taught how to read maps

Aims to equalize the perception about the map of the earth, Coordinating Agency for Surveys and Mapping (Bakosurtanal) as a body that has tufoksi earth map making map reading workshops for journalists in the building Bakosurtanal, Cibinong, Bogor District, yesterday.

"The media often use the maps as a complement to the news. As such, the journalists also must be able to make and read maps properly," said Priambodo Pariadi in his presentation.

Today, he continued, maps have become part of the broadcast news media, both print and electronic. "So that people understand the purpose of any such map. When one described, can be confusing," he explained.

Other presenters Adi Junjunan Mustafa said that the map could not be separated from geospatial. Geospatial information that focuses on geographic, time and space of an object.

"This is often used in the media, for example, in mapping and describing the disaster areas or border regions," he said.
