Position, Duties and Functions

Position :

Based on Chapter 1 Article 1 paragraph (1) Presidential Regulation Number 128 of 2022, the Geospatial Information Agency is a Non-Ministry Government Institution that is under and responsible to the President. BIG is led by a Head.

Task :

The Geospatial Information Agency has the task of carrying out governmental tasks in the field of Geospatial Information. includes basic geospatial information, thematic geospatial information and geospatial information infrastructure in accordance with statutory provisions.

Function :

1. To carry out the tasks referred to in Article 4 of Presidential Decree Number 128 of 2022, BIG carries out the following functions:
2. Formulation, determination and control of technical policies in the field of geospatial information;
3. Implementation of technical policies in the field of geospatial information;
4. Formulation of norms, standards, procedures and criteria in the field of geospatial information;
5. Providing technical guidance and supervision in the field of geospatial information;
6. Management of state property/wealth which is the responsibility of BIG;
7. Coordinating the implementation of tasks, coaching, and providing administrative support to all elements of the organization within BIG;
8. Implementation of substantive support to all elements of the organization within BIG; and
9. Supervision of the implementation of tasks within the BIG.
