Three Messages Prof. Hasan for The New BIG's Head

Cibinong, Geospatial News - Head of the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) for the 2016-2020 period Hasanuddin Zainal Abidin asked Muh Aris Marfai as the new Head of BIG to continue BIG priority programs. The programs in question include accelerated large-scale basic mapping, One Map Policy, One Indonesian Data, Geospatial for SDGs, and Ina-Geoportal.

"The principle is continuous improvement. I am sure that Prof. Aris can do it better," Hasan said in the 'Farewell and Welcome Head of BIG and Chairman of DWP BIG' on Thursday, February 18, 2021.

Hasan also advised, as a religious community, friendship and alms are important. In the institutional context, friendship means building good relations between BIG and ministries, agencies, local governments and non-government partners.

Meanwhile, sadaqah is interpreted as BIG's contribution through the geospatial data products it produces so that the community can use it as quickly and as best as possible. "So that BIG has a longer life and is institutionally able," Hasan continued.

Finally, Hasan advised Aris to abandon personal and group interests. As the head of the institution, priority should be given to public interests rather than personal and group interests.

"With his experience as Dean of the UGM Faculty of Geography, I am sure that Prof. Aris understands how to handle it," said Hasan.

In these activities carried out offline and online, Hasan handed over the book 'Heads of BIG 2016-2020: Geospatial for the Country' as a symbol of the handover of positions and a sustainable management transition. (MAD / NIN)
