Monitoring and Evaluation of PPIIG 2019

Jakarta, Geospatial News - Monitoring and Evaluation in the management of the Geospatial Information Infrastructure Development Center abbreviated as PPIIG is a routine activity that has been carried out in the past few years. However, PPIIG's monev activities this year are different compared to the monev implementation in previous years, namely the joining of Jambi University (UNJA) to be one of PPIIG's in Indonesia and fostered by the Geospatial Information Agency.

The joining of UNJA to become one of PPIIG itself was marked by the procession of signing the text of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between BIG and UNJA which on this occasion was signed by BIG represented by the Head of the Promotion and Cooperation Research Center (PPKS) Wiwin Ambarwulan, and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering UNJA, M. Naswir KM, with a term of five years.

PPIIG was formerly known as PPIDS, which is an extension of the Spatial Data Infrastructure Development Center, which is an institution that has the task of supporting the implementation of the Agency's (BIG) duties in carrying out coaching to the Regional IG Network Node. The change from PPIDS to PPIIG was motivated by Geospatial Information Agency Regulation No. 2 of 2019 concerning the Center for Geospatial Information Infrastructure Development (PPIIG). Going forward, the entire Spatial Data Infrastructure Development Center (PPIDS) will change its name to the Geospatial Information Infrastructure Development Center (PPIIG) with the terms and conditions as stipulated in the Regulations of the Agency.

The existence of PPIIG in the regions is expected to be able to make the development of network node operation throughout Indonesia run smoothly and in accordance with established standards. For 2019, the Institutional Development and IG Network Node Division have a mandate to prioritize the acceleration of spatial mapping by optimizing the role of PPIIG in the regions. In addition, it is hoped that PPIIG can also be a companion in assisting the task of the local government in accelerating village mapping. This is as stated in the Geospatial Information Agency Regulation No. 2 of 2019 in article 3 concerning the PPIIG function.

Likewise with the joining of UNJA as one of PPIIG, it is hoped that in the future UNJA will be able to carry out a variety of tasks to support the implementation of BIG's duties in carrying out coaching to the Regional IG Network Node, especially for the Jambi Province.

Welcome to join PPIIG for the University of Jambi. [DA / TR]
