Welcoming the 50th Geospatial Information Day BIG Organizes Open House

Cibinong, Geospatial News - In order to welcome the 50th Geospatial Information Day (HIG) the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) is holding an Open House for students. The activity, which was carried out on 14-16 October 2019, was opened by the Head of the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG), Hasanuddin Z. Abidin on Monday, October 14, 2019, in the BIG Main Hall. The 2019 open house participants on Day I (10/14/2019) consisted of Adi Sanggoro Vocational School, Bogor (100 participants), Cawang Baru High School, Jakarta (22 participants), Kalibata Islamic School Mafatih Elementary School Jakarta (50 participants) and MI Mifthussibyan, Citeurep (62 pesetas).

Open house activities are filled with activities, exposure to IG (Map), Spatial Adventure, Fun Geospatial. Spatial Adventure is specifically for high school students while Fun Geospatial for elementary and junior high school students. In the Spatial Adventurer activity, participants were given material or lessons about finding points/positions in several places that were determined in the BIG office area. While in Geospatial Fun the participants were given activities or games/games Blind Maps, Puzzles, Snakes and Ladders and were given an explanation of BIG activities in the Hall of infographics of BIG activities, from activities to IGD deputies to IGT.

In his opening address, Hasanuddin explained that this activity was in the context of welcoming the 50th Geospatial Information Day (HIG). BIG, which was Bakosurtanal, was a Government Institution tasked with fostering and organizing geospatial information or maps for the entire territory of Indonesia. Furthermore, Hasanuddin explained that Indonesia was the largest archipelago country with more than 17 500 islands. 16671 registered, named and coordinated, other islands are being checked and inventoried. 2500 inhabited islands. The length of Indonesia's territory from Sabang-Merauke is more than 5100 Km and from Miangas in the north to the island of rote more than 2500 km. The next activity is exposure or explanation of geospatial information/maps especially about the scale of the map presented by widyaswara BIG, Endang. The next activity participants were divided into several groups for Spatial Adventure and Fun Geospatial activities.

On the following day, Tuesday (October 15, 2019) Open House participants who have been registered include from Adi Sanggoro Vocational School (100 participants), Al-Jannah Middle School (50 participants), SDN Citereu 01 (62 participants). Wednesday (October 16, 2019) participants consisted of SDN Karang Asem Barat Citereup, MI Arrafiayah Ciomas Bogor and Salman Al-Farisi Cibinong Middle School.
