TNI AD Pusdikintel Explores Geosapsial Information at BIG

Cibinong, Gospatial News - The Center for Intelligence Education (Pusdikintel) of the Army Headquarters Training Center held a field study with the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) on Wednesday, February 13, 2019. The visit was aimed at increasing the insight of the Indonesian Army, particularly related to Indonesia's geographical structure.

The arrival of field study participants from the AD Headquarters of the Education and Training Center Headquarters was welcomed by the Head of the Research Center, Promotion and Cooperation (PPKS) BIG Wiwin Ambarwulan. In his remarks, Wiwin said that his party was very open to share knowledge with all levels of society, government agencies, and the private sector.

"BIG is happy to open the door for all levels of society to get to know Geospatial Information and its uses and roles," Wiwin said in the BIG Hall, Cibinong, Bogor.

Commander of the Pusdikintel Kodiklat AD Headquarters Colonel (inf) Dian Hardiana responded, that what was said was in line with his party's visit to BIG. "The Education and Training Center Kodiklat has aspirations to form non-commissioned officers, officers and employees who have integrity and understand various intelligence sciences, one of which is on maps," he said.

Dian hopes that visits to BIG can be carried out regularly. Not only that, he also wanted the Center for Education and Training of the Army Headquarters to collaborate with BIG to share knowledge and experience with Geospatial Information.

"It could be that we (Kododlat) held a partnership to ask BIG to be a speaker in our agency," he said.

In the material presentation session, it began with an explanation of the BIG profile by Wiwin Ambarwulan as the Head of the PPKS Center. Furthermore, the introduction of the Rupa Bumi Indonesia Map (RBI) by Wildan Firdaus from the topographical mapping center and toponym.

There is also material for spatial management and planning, delivered by Chintia Dewi from the Center for Spatial Mapping and Atlas. The session closed with a presentation by BIG lead researcher Fahmi Amhar about GIS for Good Government.

As many as 45 non-commissioned officers, officers and employees of the Army Headquarters of Pusdikintel AD enthusiastically accepted the material. Not infrequently the personnel raise questions to the speakers. (AR / LR / NIN).
