Cibinong, Geospatial News - A total of 24 participants took part in the Open Source Desktop Geographical Information System (GIS) Training and Training at the Geospatial Information Training Center (BIG) on March 4-8 2019. Participants in this training came from Loa Kulu District , Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan.
"The Open Source GIS Desktop Training aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to use GIS technology to carry out daily tasks. Hopefully, after attending this training, participants will understand the basic concept of GIS, be able to digitize maps, enter attribute data, and present geospatial data in the form of simple maps, "said the Head of the Research, Promotion and Cooperation (PPKS) BIG Wiwin Ambarwulan in his remarks at BIG Geospatial Association, Cibinong, Bogor, Monday, March 4, 2019.
In addition, Wiwin also hopes that after the training, all participants can build a geospatial database, process and manipulate geospatial data, and present Geospatial Information in their respective regions.
"BIG as the supervisor of survey and mapping has the duty to transmit knowledge to the training participants. Furthermore, the training participants are expected to be able to transmit the knowledge they have obtained in their respective places of origin, "Wiwin said.
The opening ceremony of the training was also attended by Loa Kulu District Head Adriansyah; Head of BIG Geospatial Training Center Sigit Murjati; Head of the Library and Facilities Section BIG Roriana Hanani; and Head of Material and Curriculum Section for BIG Eka Kurniawan. (JA / LR / NIN)
