In its show World Ocean Conference (WOC) in Manado, 11-15 May 2009, many activities undertaken to support the conference, one of them is Ocean Science and Technology Industry Exhibition (International Marine Science and Technology Exhibition).
As one government agency that supports this event, even contributing BAKOSURTANAL exhibit about marine technology and research has been done. Recording technology and the ebb tide the sea water, either from manual to digital systems, a special attraction at the booth BAKOSURTANAL. Tidal recording station is the result of hard work forces capable of BAKOSURTANAL, to support the Tsunami Hazard Early Warning System (Ina-TEWS, Indonesia Tsunami Early Warning System).
In addition, the study of the natural resources of outermost islands, such as Marore, Makalehi, and Manterawu, the more compelling visitor booth BAKOSURTANAL. Also do not miss the results of marine survey for base mapping, also exhibited by BAKOSURTANAL.
Marine Science and Technology Exhibition was opened by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Freddy Numberi, presents a variety of things about pengatahuan marine science, technology, industry, tourism, products and marine products, marine survey, and others. The exhibition was followed by 137 participants from various institutions including government, central and local, private, domestic and abroad, as well as national and international NGOs. Among them are the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the United States and international institutions for the protection of wildlife and the environment, WWF.
Exhibitions are held in Building Nyiur Waving, not far from the conference, livened by a number of activities which lasted until night.
