Saturday, March 21, 2009, BAKOSURTANAL Map Reading Workshop held at Pesantren Al-Wasilah Luhur, Cipanas. Activities participated by 47 participants from various Islamic representatives in Garut, and surrounding areas to be special because it is the first conducted in the neighborhood students. In Garut district, there are more than 400 boarding schools from the existing 42 districts, this has become a major field for bergagai socialization especially in the field survey and mapping. During this workshop is more often done for the students and teachers of geography in public schools.
Map Reading Workshop is a part of socialization BAKOSURTANAL to increase knowledge and use of maps, both in teaching and learning activities and public life. In the year 2009, the BAKOSURTANAL make new breakthroughs, through encouraging the boarding schools, so students also gain knowledge about the survey and mapping in addition to religious knowledge they have acquired so far. This was disclosed BAKOSURTANAL Principal Secretary, Sukendra Martha, when opening the workshop.
With a little joke, saying that during this Sukendra students required to memorize the Qur'an, then the next they are required to memorize the map.
Sosialisasi ini disambut dengan baik oleh Thonthowi Djauhari Musaddad, selaku Pimpinan Pesantren Luhur Al-Wasilah, sebagai tuan rumah. Thonthowi sangat mendukung kegiatan ini dan mendorong para santriwan-santriwati agar dapat menambah wawasannya, terutama di bidang survei dan pemetaan.
Thonthowi pun berharap kegiatan Workshop Baca Peta di lingkungan pesantren akan berkelanjutan dan silaturahmi yang telah terjalin akan selalu terjaga. Oleh Tommy Nautico
