Geospatial information is needed to help institutions or agencies in formulating policies, decision making and implementation related to space. In order for implementation of geospatial information which includes cooperation, coordination, integration, synchronization capable of efficient and effective manner and to encourage the use of geospatial information in the administration and in various aspects of community life, it is necessary to the existence of an Act. For that recently has prepared a Draft Geospatial Information Act which governs the Geospatial Information.
Draft Geospatial associated with, on this day, Tuesday, April 14, 2010, led by the chairman of the committee II Senator,s Susilo Bambang (East Kalimantan), Senator member entourage visited along BAKOSURTANAL. The party was welcomed by the First Secretary BAKOSURTANAL, Sukendra Matha accompanied by Deputy Base Mapping, Chaerul Hafidin, Plt. Deputy Minister of Natural Resources survey, Suwahyuono and environmental officials in BAKOSURTANAL.
Present on this visit, among others, Vice-chairman of Committee II (Mervin Sadipun Komber, West Papua), as well as other members of the Agriculture and Livestock, Riau, Bali, South Sumatra, Bengkulu, Central Java, Bangka Belitung, West Java and expert staff DPD Geospatial for the Draft, and the Board of Geomatics Joenil Kahar Indonesia, Jacob Rais and others.

Geospatial Act Draft to be submitted at the next Session of Parliament is an initiation of BAKOSURTANAL and RI Senators. Activities of this visit is an incentive to draft Geospatial can be enacted immediately, according to Bambang Susilo (Chairman of Committee III RI Senators).
On a working visit to review the Fixed Point BAKOSURTANAL referring to the international WGS-84 datum, and Geodynamic and Geodetic Laboratory, Centre for Topographic Mapping and Spatial Association, Survey Center for Marine and Natural Resources Service and Information Center.
