Wednesday, March 14, 2007 was held Workshop Popularizing Surveys and Mapping, the results of cooperation between the Center for Information Services and the Faculty of Agriculture BAKOSURTANAL Gorontalo University. The opening ceremony conducted by the Rector of the University of Gorontalo Ohihiya Rauf, and attended by Deputy Head of Provincial Education Gorontalo Toiyo Kasim, Inspector AH BAKOSURTANAL Djaya Rochman. and Head of Services and Products Warsito Heru.
In opening remarks, Kasim Toiyo expect with this workshop people can learn more about the map, and can map the Gorontalo area better, so it can monitor the potential development of natural resources.
Workshop Agenda Survey and Mapping of Corrections include the delivery of concepts and theories about the survey and mapping, as well as practical use of GPS in the field. The material provided in this workshop include Land Subsidience, Reading Rupabumi Maps, Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Applications Rupabumi Map.
Participants from most of the Geography teacher and junior high school level, nature lovers and students of schools and universities around the Gorontalo and Limboto. The participants seemed enthusiastic about the material provided by the instructor, so the training was only one day seem less for them. SY
